Eva is now 3 months old (well, technically she is 12 weeks old, but won't be 3 months until June 3), and the time is simply soaring by..... We are back into the full swing of life and accustomed to our new "family of four," and I honestly don't think I have ever been this busy in.my.entire.life. Every day brings new challenges, more things to fit into our already-hectic schedule, and more chaos, but more importantly, every day brings more fun, more smiles, and more joy into our book of life as we parent our daughters. Josh and I have had some hefty trials the last few weeks with money, decisions about our jobs, decisions about life and situations with family & friends, but we truly see the handiwork of God in our lives each day through our Emma and Eva.
Emma is talking more than ever, counting, singing, potty-training, and being a champion Big Sister. Eva is cooing, smiling, giggling, and trying to roll over.
It doesn't get much better than this!

8-Week Well-Baby Check!
Eva had her first well-baby check yesterday (but she is actually 10 weeks). Joy assisted me on the journey, because both girls had to get injections. :( Eva weighed in at a whoppping 12 lbs. (75%-tile), was 24 inches long (90%-tile), and her head size measured 16 inches (also 90%-tile)! It looks like Squish is off to a healthy start! The worst part, of course, is always when the injection nurse enters the room. I do not fall for the traditional vaccination schedule, so I have done a ton of research and created my own. They wanted to give Eva 10 different formulas yesterday, of which we took 4 of. She cried for a moment, and then smiled at me. Emma, on the other hand, was emotionally effected by the needle..... She screamed and cried FOREVER. It hadn't really hurt her physically, but it had certainly damaged her feelings. Stickers made her feel much better though! The whole vaccination debate makes my stomach hurt at the thought, so I have been praying vigorously that no rare reactions will take place.
I pray we have many, many more well-baby checks to come!

A Mother's Day Perspective
Happy Mother's Day to all of my blog-friends. The girls surprised me with lots of gifts--Bath & Body Works, the book that I have been longing for "Mistaken Identity," and a jumbo bucket of cleaning supplies that I have been coveting at Sam's for ages (this may seem like a lousy gift to some, but I seriously have been wanting it, so no need to interrogate Josh on his gift choice!), and one of those GIANT cards, literally displaying how much I am loved. They also awoke me and surprised me with a yummy brunch at Mad Jack's..... Then, Josh had to take off for work, which I have been pouting about all week. However, this should make me think differently.....
I have been following a certain website the last few weeks. This story was featured on the front page of the Star Tribune a few weeks ago. It is about a man (from the Twin Cities) whose wife was put on bedrest the last few weeks of her pregnancy. She ended up having a c-section on March 24, but couldn't get out of bed to see her new daughter, Madeline, until the next day. She awoke that morning, excited to go meet her daughter, felt light-headed while getting into the wheelchair, and ultimately had a pulmonary embolism, which took her life. Matt's blog starts with family updates while Liz was pregnant, announces Madeline's birth on the 24th, and the next entry is Liz's obituary.
I guess I don't have it so bad after all.....at least I am here with my girls on Mother's Day.
You guys gotta check out this website: http://www.mattlogelin.com/. His blog features daily updates of what it is like to raise Madeline on his own. Make sure you have a box of Kleenex in hand.....and enjoy every precious moment that you are granted with your babies.
I know I will.

Go TWINS!
Pre-game pictures!
"Daddy, I don't like the Twins...."
Family Photo
"Ok, I do like baseball!"
Popcorn fun!
Last night was Northwestern Health Sciences University's night at the Dome! President Ziegler threw the first pitch, and we had a fun social evening at the Twins game. This was Eva's first trip to the Dome, and she loved it! Emma was also a trooper, and got spoiled with tasty treats all night--thanks to Daddy! To top it all off, the Twins won at the last pitch of the bottom of the 9th! Go Twins!

Emma Archuleta
Tuesday evenings at the Borggren house consist of American Idol and wings. The 2 always come together. We diligently watch Idol every Tuesday night, while Buffalo Wild Wings conveniently offers their scrumptious wings for only $0.40 a piece, which we consume 40 of in front of our television every week. [This is such a tradition that Emma often asks for "wings" when I am watching the performances AGAIN on any given day of the week.] It seems for the last few weeks that Emma has a little crush.....
E.V.E.R.Y. time that Em sees David Archuleta, either while performing, preparing to perform, in the Ford commercials, or whatever, she jumps up and down and exclaims, "There he is. That guy!!!" "That guy" is either her hero, her pick for American Idol, or her crush. We aren't quite sure which, but we LOVE waiting for her to spot him, and claim her territory!

My Morning
This is what I did before leaving for work this morning:
~Got myself ready complete with shaving of legs, and ironing of shirt.
~Bathed Emma, and fixed her hair.
~Bathed Eva.
~Nursed Eva.
~Pumped.
~Changed Eva. Twice.
~Folded the laundry on the floor so I could empty the drier, so I could empty the washer, so I could start another load.
~Mopped the bathroom floor, after the toilet leaked.
~Emptied the dishwasher.
~Reloaded the dishwasher.
~Made my lunch.
~Checked my e-mail and replied to e-mails that needed prompt response.
~Picked up Emma's room so that Joy could navigate!
~Got ingredients ready to make dessert after work for party tonight.
~Watched the weather and traffic report.
~Fed Emma breakfast.
~Sighed when Nanny arrived, so I could leave for work and have 45 minutes of peace and quiet during commute.
No wonder I am exhausted when I get to work.....

Grey Matter Matters.....
They say you can lose up to 20% of brain tissue when you are pregnant. I beg to differ. I think it is twice that.
I have been saying the stupidest things lately. And you don't even want to know how many times I have lost my keys..... You see, as the baby is rapidly developing inside of you, it steals a few brains cells. They are supposed to "quickly" return after delivering, but this time around, I think I am continuing to lose them at rapid fire. Thankfully, this didn't occur with Emma as I took Part 3 of my National Chiro Boards 6 weeks after she was born, and Part 4 when she was only 4 months. Some how I managed to pass, although I am not convinced that I would be able to currently. I am just plain dumb lately.
I can't wait to see what I say today.....
